"Cyber-School Assistance,"

A local foundation that
is trying to increase the population of qualified
technology workers is offering scholarships of $2,000
to 125 people each quarter to help them get trained
in working on Microsoft computer systems.
The National Education Foundation, with supporters
that include this newspaper's Washingtonpost.com website,
is offering that break on what normally is a $6,800
training course at the affiliated CyberLearning Universe.
People who make it through the course, which includes
172 hours of classroom instruction in Alexandria,
take a test to become Microsoft Certified Systems
Engineers. Northern Virginia Community College will
issue 17 continuing Education units for graduates.
