NEF offers school districts/schools/charter schools the Federally required 10% Matching Grants to secure $1 million to $30 million in Federal QZAB (Qualified Zone Academy Bonds) zero interest loan funds:

Use of Funds

QZAB funds can be used for renovation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, technology, teacher training, curriculum etc.

Eligibility

School districts/schools/charter schools with at least 35% of students on free/reduced cost lunch.  Click here for more information about eligibility.

Amount of QZAB Funds

Three billion dollars ($3 billion) are available to school districts nationally, with our 10% match and the mandatory QZAB academy we can set up for you.

QZAB Loan into QZAB Grant

NEF can show eligible school districts how to transform the 15-year QZAB loan into a grant via guaranteed performance contracts for energy efficiency and renewable energy.

NEF Performance

Since 2002, we have provided QZAB matching grants for most QZAB-eligible school districts/charter schools nationally, and have helped to “better prepare students for college and workforce,” as required by the Federal QZAB law via our world-class CyberLearning STEM+ academy program.

Bank offering zero interest loan (no supplemental interest)
